CRAIG JACKSON
Craig Jackson attended Baylor Law School where he received his Juris Doctor in 1996. Subsequent to graduation, Mr. Jackson immediately opened his own law office where he became a seasoned litigator in very short order. Over the course of nine years as a solo practitioner, Mr. Jackson tried a wide variety of cases including divorces, child custody suits, family violence suits, criminal cases, breach of contract suits, and personal injury matters.
The majority of Mr. Jackson’s practice consists of litigating family law matters. This includes handling divorces with complex estates, child custody disputes, child support matters, protective orders, and other disputes that affect the parent-child relationship. Additionally, Mr. Jackson has developed a prolific appellate practice that has included presenting arguments to various appellate courts as well as the Texas Supreme Court.
Mr. Jackson is board certified in family law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, is a member of the Texas Academy of Family Law Specialists, and on numerous occasions has been selected by his peers for recognition in Texas Monthly magazine as a “Texas Rising Star” in the field of Family Law.
PATTY WENETSCHLAEGER
Patty Wenetschlaeger serves as a mediator and arbitrator in many areas of law. Ms. Wenetschlaeger is known for her diligence in mediation and moving parties forward with creative and practical solutions to their conflicts. She is an adjunct professor teaching advanced mediation courses for Abilene Christian University’s Master’s Degree Program in Dispute Resolution as well as the Straus Institute at Pepperdine’s School of Law in Malibu, California. Ms. Wenetschlaeger has been a speaker for the state bar of Texas promoting Pro Bono work in the area of Family Law and is also a conference speaker, emphasizing the need for dispute resolution methods in the faith-based communities.
In addition to her mediation and arbitration practice, Ms. Wenetschlaeger practices in the area of Family Law and Non-Profit Law, including religious organizations and other public charities. Ms. Wenetschlaeger is licensed to practice law in the state of Texas and in the U.S. Northern District of Texas. Within the area of Family Law, Ms. Wenetschlaeger handles all legal matters affecting children and families, including marital relations and divorce, custody, child support, enforcement, paternity, grandparent access, and adoption.
Ms. Wenetschlaeger attended Pepperdine University School of Law in Malibu, California where she received her Juris Doctor along with a Master of Dispute Resolution from the Strauss Institute at Pepperdine. She was selected for a fellowship with the Strauss Institute for Dispute Resolutions and served as a mediator in the Ventura County, California Family Courts and trained inner city students in Peer Mediation. She attended Abilene Christian University where she received a Master of Science in Clinical Psychology.
Ms. Wenetschlaeger is a council member on the State Bar of Texas ADR Section as well as a member of the Dallas Bar Association, the Tarrant County Family Law Bar Association, the Abilene Bar Association, the Texas Mediation Trainers Roundtable, Texas Association of Mediators, and the Advisory Board for the Center for Conflict Resolution at Abilene Christian University. On multiple occasions Ms. Wenetschlaeger has been selected by her peers for recognition in Texas Monthly magazine as a “Rising Star Super Lawyer in Texas” in the field of Family Law.
LAURA LANG
Laura Lang is a partner and shareholder with Brewer Jackson. Ms. Lang practices primarily in the area of corporate transactional law, with an emphasis on representing nonprofit organizations. Ms. Lang earned her Bachelor of Arts, cum laude, from Butler University in speech-language pathology. She obtained her Juris Doctor in 2000 from Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law where she was a member of the Computer Law Review and Technology Journal, now known as The SMU Science and Technology Law Review. Ms. Lang has represented nonprofit organizations and for-profit clients in a variety of transactions ranging from corporate governance issues and real estate transactions to property tax issues and contract negotiations.
Ms. Lang has been recognized on multiple occasions by Texas Monthly and Law and Politics Magazine and her peers as a “Texas Rising Star” in the field of non-profit law. She is a member of the Texas Bar, Dallas Bar Association, Texas Association of Young Lawyers, Dallas Association of Young Lawyers, Highland Park United Methodist Church and the Junior League of Dallas.
LESLIE MOORE
Leslie Moore is an attorney with extensive experience advising non-profit organizations throughout the country and internationally. Ms. Moore graduated, cum laude, with a Bachelor of Arts in Social Science from Bethany University in Santa Cruz, California. She also attended Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law, graduating in 2000, and has her license to practice law in the State of Texas, the Northern District of Texas, as well as the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit. Prior to working with Brewer Jackson, Ms. Moore served as General Counsel for Mothers Against Drunk Driving. As the head of its Legal Department, she counseled MADD on a variety of issues, including employment matters, intellectual property protection and enforcement, corporate governance, contractual issues, risk management, insurance, litigation and tax matters. Ms. Moore has also represented many church and para-church organizations in her career.
Ms. Moore was the subject of a March 2010 Texas Lawyer article regarding her role as General Counsel for Mothers Against Drunk Driving and is certified in risk management by Cambridge University. She and her family are active members of Bent Tree Bible Fellowship in Carrollton, Texas.
DENNIS BREWER, JR.
Dennis G. Brewer, Jr. has maintained a trial practice centered in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex for over 25 years. He is board certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization as a specialist in the field of family law while overseeing select civil disputes and law suits in his other practice areas. Mr. Brewer’s experience spans the fields—church related law, family law, and general civil and criminal litigation. For over two decades Mr. Brewer has worked within his firms to develop a national church law practice. He has an ‘AV’ rating by Martindale Hubbell, the highest rating given, which is based upon confidential survey responses of attorneys and judges (A = preeminent attorney; V = very high general ethical standards). Mr. Brewer has also received the distinction of being named a “Super Lawyer” by Texas Monthly Magazine five years consecutively, beginning in 2004
Mr. Brewer obtained his Juris Doctor from Southern Methodist University School of Law in 1980, and is licensed to practice in the State of Texas and in the U.S. District Court, Northern District of Texas. He is a member of the Texas Bar Association, Dallas Bar Association, Family Law Section of the Tarrant County Bar Association, the Texas Academy of Matrimonial Specialists, and is a former President of the Irving Bar Association. Mr. Brewer is a Master of the Bench in the Annette Stewart American Inn of Court and has been since this Inn’s inception. He is a charter member of The Collaborative Law Institute of Texas, and is a strategic partner with Mediation Law Group.
Mr. Brewer attended Southern Methodist University prior to law school where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree with honors. Throughout his legal career, Mr. Brewer and his family have lived in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. Mr. Brewer has been actively involved in his community with a history of service as a director of his HOA, director of a community bank in his city of residence, and a director of his church. He and his family are active members of Fellowship Church in Grapevine, Texas.
